Scandal Engulfs Former Ligue 1 Player Yoann Court in Football Shirt Fraud
2025-09-30 · Ligue 1

Yoann Court, ex-professional footballer formerly of Stade Brestois and Caen, is under investigation for fraud related to the sale of football jerseys. Collectors report losing thousands of euros after Court allegedly sold multiple jerseys to different buyers without delivery or refund. This controversy adds to Court's prior financial issues, sparking outrage and calls for legal action from affected fans and collectors.
Former Ligue 1 midfielder Yoann Court finds himself at the center of a disturbing scandal involving the alleged fraudulent sale of football jerseys to dedicated collectors. Known for his spells at Stade Brestois (2018-2020) and Caen (2020-2024), Court is accused of contacting about a hundred enthusiasts promising rare collector shirts — many of which were never delivered, with some buyers losing as much as €1,690.
The founder of the specialized store "Football shirt vintage", Jonathan, has been raising alarms on Instagram, stating: "A professional player contacted numerous collectors to offer jerseys, except these jerseys were never sent. Buyers were never reimbursed, and some were scammed with the same shirt resold several times." Out of 50 documented buyers, only five received their orders, and a mere five received refunds, leaving the majority still awaiting resolution.
This is not the first financial controversy linked to Court. In 2023, the LFP suspended him for one match and fined him €3,000 for issues related to sports betting addiction. Additionally, in 2024, a former partner publicly demanded €8,000 that Court had agreed to repay. Currently unattached since leaving FK IMT Belgrade last summer, Court faces mounting public and legal scrutiny.
The football memorabilia community has mobilized, launching a collective call to victims with the intent to consolidate evidence and pursue justice. Social media buzzes with hundreds of testimonies describing similar fraudulent experiences and partial reimbursements following prolonged disputes. The episode highlights risks inherent in the sports collectibles market and underscores the need for vigilance.
Despite the controversy engulfing Court, Ligue 1 continues with its season unfolding, yet this off-field turmoil serves as a stark reminder of the darker side behind football fandom. For collectors and fans alike, the hope remains that affected parties receive restitution and that future scams of this nature will be prevented through collective legal action and increased awareness.
