Raimondo leads Serie A with seven goals as Juventus watch the Frosinone striker

Antonio Raimondo leads the Serie A scoring chart with seven goals after seven matchdays, and the Frosinone striker's form has put him on Juventus's radar, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The forward, born in 2004, moved to the top with a hat-trick in Frosinone's 4-2 win over Sassuolo on 16 October, the Friday opener of matchday 7. He scored in the 26th and 30th minutes, both times punishing mistakes by the Sassuolo goalkeeper, then completed his first Serie A hat-trick in the 57th, reacting first after a save. That took him past Roma's Donyell Malen, who has six.

It was his third multi-goal league game of the season, after two braces. ANSA noted that only Barcelona's Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, with four, have done the same in Europe's top leagues. The win took Frosinone to 13 points, sixth in the table and level with Cagliari, six behind leaders Inter and Lazio.

"I owe most of my path to Alvini"

Raimondo, named man of the match against Sassuolo, credited Frosinone coach Massimiliano Alvini. "I owe most of my path so far to Alvini," he told DAZN. "I arrived after a season in which I was awful, and last year we won the league; thanks to him I'm making huge improvements."

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport he was specific about the work: Alvini "hammers me every day together with his staff. He made me take a step up in consistency, attacking the space and protecting the ball." Raimondo made his Serie A debut at 17 with Bologna against Verona, under Sinisa Mihajlovic: "I will thank him for my whole life for giving me my chance."

Alvini is keeping expectations low. "We all have a common objective, the same one we set ourselves from day one: survival," he said on 19 October at an awards ceremony at CONI in Rome. Asked about a first call-up to Italy's senior team, he added: "If the national team doesn't come now, it could come in three months or a year. That is his path, he knows it and he works for it." Raimondo himself called the national team "a dream and a goal. If a call came, I would certainly answer."

Juventus interest

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus have followed Raimondo for some time, and the club's new director general wants a more Italian squad. The paper sees a deal as more likely at the end of the season, but does not rule out a January attempt if Juventus fear competition from abroad, above all from the Premier League. One option it describes is buying him and leaving him at Frosinone on a new loan.

Raimondo belongs to Bologna, under contract until 2028, and is at Frosinone on a straight loan. Tuttomercatoweb reports that Frosinone have no intention of giving up their number nine in January, a position the Gazzetta also describes.

Frosinone's next game is away to Atalanta, 11th on nine points, on Sunday 25 October.
