La Liga EA Sports: Clásico, 'trotamundos' and the keys to the weekend

Matchday 10 of La Liga EA Sports dazzles with one of the most anticipated fixtures in world football: Real Madrid and Barcelona face off at the Santiago Bernabéu in a Clásico that promises maximum intensity and excitement from the opening whistle. Madrid leads the table with a slim advantage and arrives in high spirits after a crucial victory over Juventus in the Champions League, with a decisive goal from Jude Bellingham, who has scored in six consecutive league games. Vinicius Jr. and Mbappé are also in excellent form, responsible for 15 of the team’s 20 goals in La Liga.

On the Blaugrana side, the absence of key players like Ter Stegen, Gavi, Lewandowski, and Raphinha, among others, shapes the starting XI, though Jules Koundé returns after an injury. Coach Flick faces the match with the option of Eric García and Ronald Araujo in defense if Koundé doesn’t start. Barcelona’s likely lineup features a young, renewed squad with standouts like Pedri, De Jong, and Ferran. The match will be played this Sunday at 9:15 AM (Mexico City time) and can be watched exclusively in Mexico on SkySports, with live commentary on MARCA.com.

Another highlight within La Liga is the profile of the so-called 'trotamundos' (globetrotters)—players who have worn many jerseys throughout their careers in Spain. Carlos Aranda tops the list with eight different teams in eight seasons, followed by Sandro Ramírez, still active at Las Palmas, who has also played for eight teams in ten campaigns. Other notable names include Raúl Carnero, Arizmendi, Rubén Martínez, Munir, Rubén Pérez, Lluis Carreras, Rubén Soldado, and Miquel Soler, all historic figures due to their extensive experience across various La Liga clubs. This peculiarity reflects the multiple career paths possible in the elite and how talent moves dynamically throughout the league.

The matchday also includes an important clash outside the Clásico. Real Betis prepares to host Atlético de Madrid, a key match for the Verdiblancos in the standings. Fans can check the schedule and channels to follow this thrilling encounter live, adding more excitement to an increasingly competitive season.

Off the pitch, Spanish basketball also celebrates a significant milestone. Leyma Básquet Coruña equaled its best historic start in the Primera FEB with five consecutive victories, securing sole leadership thanks to defeats by rivals Estudiantes and Palencia. Jacobo stood out with a 71.4% three-point shooting record, along with key contributions from Joe Cremo, Thiam, and Cuevas. This snapshot of national sports showcases the strength and competitiveness that extends beyond football to other disciplines, reflecting the vigor of sports in Spain.
