Inter and Lazio level on 19 points after Juventus rout, Roma two back

Inter and Lazio both have 19 points after seven matches, and neither has lost. Lazio beat Juventus 3-0 in Turin on Sunday, a day after Inter came from behind to win 3-1 at Bologna. Inter lead on goal difference (+12 to +10), Roma are two points back on 17 and AC Milan four back on 15.

Centre-back Oliver Provstgaard, who is 1.93m tall, headed in at the far post after 37 minutes. Winger Gustav Isaksen made it 2-0 with a low shot on 66 minutes, and substitute Fisayo Dele-Bashiru ran from his own half to score three minutes from time. AFP notes that 19 points is Lazio's best tally after seven league games, ahead of the 17 won by Sven-Goran Eriksson's 1999-2000 side, which went on to win the title. Lazio have won all four away games this season, scoring eight and conceding one.

"We may well be the surprise package of this league, but we mustn't change our approach, we need to take each match as it comes and work hard," said Lazio coach Gennaro Gattuso.

Juventus were booed off and have won one of their last five league games. They are eighth on 11 points, eight behind the leaders. "We were clearly outplayed, we were slow, we lacked ideas. It's hard to understand," said coach Luciano Spalletti.

Inter turn it around again

Tommaso Pobega put Bologna ahead inside ten minutes, but Marcus Thuram headed in Nicolo Barella's cross on 44 minutes. Carlos Augusto scored less than a minute after coming on in the 69th, and Ange-Yoan Bonny added a third late on. beIN Sports puts Inter's expected goals at 3.35 against 0.90 for Bologna.

Inter have now taken 19 points from seven games for only the fourth time since three points for a win arrived in 1994-95. Coach Cristian Chivu's side join the 1997-98, 2002-03 and 2017-18 teams, none of which won the Scudetto.

Roma and Milan keep up

Roma beat Genoa 2-0 on Saturday and are unbeaten after seven games (five wins, two draws) with only three goals conceded. AC Milan won 3-2 against Atalanta on Sunday and are fourth, also unbeaten. "Usually, we struggle at the start of the match and play better in the second half. It was the opposite today, but these are three important points in our season," said Milan midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The top four are the only teams in Serie A without a defeat.
