Gibbs-White back as goal-shy Forest visit Ipswich in 19th place

Nottingham Forest have yet to score a home league goal this season and sit four points behind Ipswich, who would climb to sixth with a win on Friday night.

Nottingham Forest travel to Portman Road on Friday night (20:00 BST) with Morgan Gibbs-White fit again, but Oliver Glasner's side sit 19th in the Premier League, four points behind 10th-placed Ipswich Town.

What is at stake

Promoted Ipswich have nine points from seven games: three wins, four defeats, 11 goals scored and 15 conceded. Victory would take Gary O'Neil's side to 12 points and up to sixth, above Brentford, at least until the rest of the weekend's games are played.

Forest have five points from one win, two draws and four defeats. Their five goals are the fewest in the division, and a win would lift them out of the bottom three.

Recent form

Ipswich lost 3-2 at leaders Manchester City last Saturday. Daizen Maeda cancelled out Phil Foden's opener, Erling Haaland scored twice and Zian Flemming pulled one back in the 90th minute. A week earlier they had beaten Fulham 2-1 at home.

Forest lost 1-0 at home to Arsenal on Sunday to an 80th-minute goal that Glasner said was deflected. It was their third defeat in a row, and their last win came at Aston Villa on 12 September. According to BBC Sport, Forest have won one of their last 15 Premier League games at the City Ground and, along with Schalke 04, are one of only two sides in Europe's big-five leagues without a home league goal this season.

"Feels a bit weird to have a third defeat in a row but I see progress in every game," Glasner said after the Arsenal game.

Team news

Gibbs-White has trained all week and is available, and defender Nikola Milenkovic, an unused substitute against Arsenal, is "ready to start". Striker Igor Jesus and defender Nicolo Savona are the only players ruled out.

"He can create chances and score goals himself and that is always very positive - but on the other hand, without him we had a very competitive team against the champions. This gives us confidence," Glasner said of Gibbs-White. Forest are expected to lead the line with Liam Delap, the former Ipswich striker, who has one Premier League goal this season.

Ipswich midfielder Sasa Lukic missed the City game with a slight groin problem. "We expect to see him with us on Friday against Nottingham Forest," O'Neil said after the match. The East Anglian Daily Times expects O'Neil to return to a 4-2-3-1 after a switch to a back three at the Etihad. "I much prefer being the more aggressive team and the team that tries to take it to the opposition," the Ipswich head coach said.
