Police in Paris have asked the league to postpone Sunday's meeting of the top two, which could then clash with the Ballon d'Or ceremony in London.
Ligue 1's eighth matchday is being reshuffled around a new day of protests across France on Saturday 24 October. The LFP announced on Wednesday that Toulouse v Troyes, scheduled for Saturday at 17:15, will be played on Sunday 25 October at the same time, at the request of the Haute-Garonne prefecture and with the agreement of broadcaster Ligue1+.
The authorities want police available for the protests after violence and looting on 17 October. Toulouse-Troyes is the second professional fixture moved since then, after the Ligue 2 match between Montpellier and Red Star, now on Monday 26 October.
The bigger game may follow. The Paris police prefecture has asked the LFP to postpone PSG v Lyon, set for Sunday at 20:45 at the Parc des Princes, on the day an NFL game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New Orleans Saints is staged at the Stade de France. According to L'Équipe, the match could move to Monday, the evening of the Ballon d'Or ceremony in London. Le Progrès reports that PSG do not want to play during the ceremony, as several of their players are nominated.
"Honestly, we have no information. The matter is in the prefecture's hands. I hope we will know more soon," said Lyon sporting director Matthieu Louis-Jean. Lyon, who play Hoffenheim in the Europa League on Thursday, lead Ligue 1 on goal difference from PSG, both on 14 points.
