Soccer Freeze Tag | Fun Dribbling Warm-Up Game for Kids
Soccer Freeze Tag is a fun dribbling game for kids that works as a warm-up for any youth soccer practice. Former FC Cincinnati midfielder Corben Bone explains how to set it up and play. In this FC Cincinnati Soccer Drills episode, presented by Penn Station East Coast Subs, Corben, FC Cincinnati's Director of Soccer in the Community, runs a game of soccer freeze tag at TQL Stadium. Taggers chase players who are dribbling around a 20x20 grid. Tagged players freeze with the ball between their feet, and teammates set them free with an accurate pass. Players of all levels can join in, and it's great for dribbling under pressure, passing accuracy and teamwork. ⚽ EQUIPMENT • 4 cones (to make a 20x20 grid) • Soccer balls (1 per player) • Scrimmage vests or cones (to mark the taggers) • Enthusiastic players! 📋 HOW TO PLAY 1. Players dribble inside the grid while the taggers try to tag them. 2. If you're tagged, freeze and hold your ball still between your feet. 3. To unfreeze a teammate, pass your ball into the ball between their feet. 4. Once you're unfrozen, you're back in the game. 5. The taggers win if everyone is frozen. If time runs out first, the dribblers win. 🎯 WHY COACHES LOVE IT • Players dribble with their heads up and under pressure • Unfreezing teammates builds passing accuracy and teamwork • Easy to set up, all levels can play, and it's fun ⏱️ CHAPTERS 0:00 Intro and equipment 0:19 Rules of the game 0:42 How to win 0:53 Game in action 1:19 Recap ▶️ Watch the full FC Cincinnati Soccer Drills playlist for more youth soccer passing drills, dribbling drills and fun games for kids.
